Overview

An IB kindergarten in Tianhe District, Guangzhou is seeking an experienced Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher to join its early years teaching team. This role is ideal for a caring and professional early years teacher with experience working with young children aged 2.5-6 and a strong interest in inquiry-based international education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the kindergarten’s IB curriculum
  • Work closely with the Chinese homeroom teacher to manage the classroom and support daily routines
  • Ensure children’s safety, wellbeing, and positive self-regulation
  • Help create classroom agreements and maintain a calm, caring learning environment
  • Prepare environmental displays and classroom documentation
  • Communicate professionally with parents
  • Write reports, class newsletters, and learning updates
  • Assess children’s development and support parent-teacher meetings
  • Participate in kindergarten activities, events, and professional development days
  • Assist with English proofreading for newsletters, marketing materials, and school documents when required
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing teaching team

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Native English speaker ( UK, USA, AUS, NZ ONLY)
  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with children aged 2.5–6
  • Education degree and teaching certificate preferred
  • Experience in an IB kindergarten preferred
  • Caring, patient, and professional approach to young learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Eligible for a Chinese work visa
