Overview

A bilingual IB school in Shanghai is seeking an experienced IB Primary Homeroom / ESL Teacher to join its primary school team. This role suits a teacher with strong primary experience, confidence teaching English language learners and familiarity with the IB PYP inquiry-based approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English to primary school students in group class settings
  • Deliver lessons within the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Support students’ English language development as second language learners
  • Plan engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with school curriculum expectations
  • Follow school policies, procedures, and curriculum guidance
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum leaders and teaching teams
  • Model professionalism in communication, appearance, conduct, and staff relationships
  • Support students by modelling the values of the IB Learner Profile

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Relevant teaching certificate
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
  • Familiarity with IB PYP and inquiry-based teaching
  • Native-level English proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative and organisational skills
  • Patient, flexible and team-oriented teaching style
